Pittsburgh woman hospitalized after being burned in house fire
PITTSBURGH -- A woman was rushed to a Pittsburgh hospital after she was badly burned when her clothes caught fire during a blaze in her home.
The incident happened along Lorenz Avenue in the city’s Elliott neighborhood.
The fire was out in a matter of minutes, but it was still strong enough to leave the victim with second- and third- degree burns, authorities said.
Investigators said the victim might have been using an oxygen tank, which caused a couch to catch fire.
The woman then suffered burns to her chest and arms. She was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital. Her name and condition have not been released.
Police continue to investigate.
