A kitchen fire burned at a Pembroke Pines apartment on Sunday night.

Just after 10 p.m. the fire alarm went off at Park Place Development.

According to fire rescue, the fire started on the second floor of an 8-story building.

It is still too hot for crews to go inside the kitchen to figure out exactly what sparked the fire.

5 people were treated for smoke-related injuries.

One person was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital.

According to police, that person's injuries are not life-threatening.

All residents have returned to their homes.
